Student Letters to the Editor

[ad_1]

On April 17, the Opinion section invited high school students to write a letter to the editor in response to a Times news or opinion article that appeared that week.

You can check out the winning student letters here. Which of them interests you most? Why?

If you were given this same challenge now, what current Times article would you choose as the basis for your letter to the editor? Why?

Tell us in the comments, and if you enjoyed this exercise, keep in mind that it is excellent practice for participating in our 14th Annual Summer Reading Contest, which runs from June 9 to Aug. 18.

Students 13 and older in the United States and Britain, and 16 and older elsewhere, are invited to comment. All comments are moderated by the Learning Network staff, but please keep in mind that once your comment is accepted, it will be made public and may appear in print.
